Playing Music While Using The Surge

The Surge is designed for on-the-go use. We know that people want to use our solar charger with their iPod and iPhone without any complications. That’s why there are no switches are confusing features. It’s simply plug-and-play!

Music is what made the Apple’s portable technology so popular so we knew it was important that our accessory work seamlessly when the iPod and iPhone plays music or videos. That’s why we designed sound ports built into the Surge. The specs for both the iPod touch and iPhone are a little different, so we had to change the feature a little bit for the two different configurations.

On the Surge for iPod touch (the NT02) the sound ports and headphone jack are located on the bottom of the casing. As shown in the picture above you can see that there is a perforated skin and a precise canal for the sound to be broadcast loudly without losing volume or clarity.

On the Surge for iPhone 3G and 3GS (the NT01) the headphone jack is located at the top, but the sound ports are again located at the bottom. As you can see in the picture above there are two speaker ports to prevent sound dampening.

We’ve tested the quality of sound and the only difference is that the music is projected forward when you play music while the iPod or iPhone is nested in the Surge. When music is played without the Surge connected the sound is projected downward. So we think that the experience is even better with the Surge because of the change in direction of the music.
